I LOVE MY iPAD!
by Elder Morgan
One
of the coolest things about getting iPads in the mission is that it isn't just
for those we teach. They give us iPads to better ourselves and our use of
technology. Through having iPads, the church is trying to teach missionaries
how they can safely use them, use them with good etiquette, and use them in a
disciplined, productive way. The church produced a pamphlet which all missionaries who use iPads receive. The
pamphlet lists safeguards on how to properly use technology. As we pay
attention to those safeguards, we create habits for proper technology use that
will last us the remainder of our lives. Though there are many temptations and
evil things that can be done with technology, we learn how to avoid those and
use it for good. We also learn how to use it to share the gospel of Jesus
Christ, and we can share the gospel, using technology, for the rest of our lives.
iPads
are great devices to use for studying. The Gospel Library app has so many
fantastic features to use: marking, tagging, note taking, linking. It's great.
If you have it, I encourage you to play around with it. If you don't have it,
get it. iPads are also great for playing music. There are only a few websites I
can use, but on LDS.org there is a youth site. That youth site has a bunch of
EFY and Mutual music that my companion and I listen to a lot.
